This original character of mine has an interesting story... It all started years ago with Little Big Planet, one of my all-times favourite games: I was messing around with my little sack-thing costumes until I got what to me looked like a cool result, so I immediately had to sketch it; furthermore, I even decided to give the new character a full colored design, as you can see in the first pic (very, very old first pic, at least I can see my skills have got better over time), and from that I started to draw her more and more, adding details here and there, always changing something each time, until I finally decided to start all over again as a project for my art school. In this occasion, I wanted to make her origins more clear in the design, but the truth was that she had no origins yet, so I tried to come up with a short story while I was making this new design. That short story evolved in something more refined over the years, and that's what made me come back to her more recently. Her name means "shadow that whispers to the moon".
A legend tells the story of an ancient queen of Egypt, close to her death, that committed a terrible error. She didn't want to accept her fate, she wanted to keep herself alive forever to reign over her growing empire, and so she attended a prohibited ritual through which she obtained the power of a demigod, causing the wrath of the God of Death himself. The punishment would have been even worse than death, as her immortal body was disfigured and the bones of the dead she tried to escape from would grow on her skin following her for eternity. From that day, she had to hide from the world, afraid to be seen only as a monster, dreaming that soon she could be free of her curse. Years, decades, millennia passed from that day, and still someone in the world tells stories of a shadow whispering prayers to the moon.
